The VS6 takes everything we love about the Varia VS3 and brings it to the next level: it’s bigger, quieter, faster, and more precise. With a pair of 58mm flat steel burrs, the VS6 is capable of producing an 18 g dose in just under 12 seconds. Grinding at an average of 63 decibels, this is one of the quietest grinders we’ve ever tested. Like the VS3, the burrs on the VS6 are designed to be swapped out and upgraded. Varia makes a wide range of burr upgrades, including a set of 63mm conical burrs that offer the highest level of consistency across all grind sizes.

The VS6 also features a variable-speed motor that can be adjusted anywhere between 500 and 1600 RPM in 100 RPM increments. This gives you a level of control over your grind speed and consistency that’s unheard of at this price point—until now. The stepless grind adjustment system allows for burr shifts as minute as 5 microns, offering extraordinary precision when dialing in. These changes are made by rotating the 80 g bean hopper, which has helpful notches to help you keep track of how many rotations you’ve made, so it’s easy to remember how you’ve dialed in for specific brew methods.  When designing the VS6, Varia added active ionization needles and a removable dosing tube with a spring-loaded knocker. Along with the sloped geometry, silicone bellows, and included RDT sprayer, this helps reduce static and achieve retention levels that are truly miniscule.

Like every Varia grinder, the VS6 has a full range of grind settings and is suitable for all brew methods, from espresso to cold brew. It’s also made from space-grade aluminum and stainless steel and machined to exacting tolerances.
